Good to know
The space I purchased this property pending foreclosure as a burn out in 2013. Over the course of the following 7 years, I lived and worked at this home restoring and renovating the site myself into what is now available for you to experience! I immensely enjoy my time there, and I'm optimistic that you will too. These spaces and the experience curated within them has been given a great deal of love and consideration. I'm hopeful that you will be willing to offer the same. Originally built in 1920, this apartment has been fully restored and features historic charm, artfully curated decor, and very unique character. Enjoy access to immaculate amenities including a rooftop terrace featuring your own private outdoor shower and hot tub. Hardwood flooring, the original clawfoot tub, and exposed brick highlight the historic integrity of the home, while updated design elements and artwork bring in modern touches, mimicking the eclectic nature of Savannah itself. The full kitchen is stocked with essential cookware, high-end appliances, and complimentary coffee. The Smart TV adds easy access to a variety of streaming software for the guest’s enjoyment. The home sleeps 6, and features 2 queens and 1 king bed. Please be advised that this apartment is located in a multi-unit building. CLIMBING STAIRS IS REQUIRED TO ACCESS THE UNIT. The upstairs loft-style 3rd bedroom is only accessible through the second bedroom. You're within walking distance to many Savannah staples, including Tacos+Tequila, Cotton and Rye, Sentient Bean, Forsyth Park and so much more! It's about a 10 minute drive (or a cheap Uber ride) to River Street and about a 25 minute drive to Tybee Island. Parking: There are two dedicated off-street parking spaces in the rear lane of the property. These spaces are only able to accommodate regular sized trucks and vehicles, and are not suitable for anyone with a trailer. There is however on street parking surrounding the property available for larger caravans. Please only park in the rear spaces labeled as Terrace parking Quiet Hours: This is a residential neighborhood. Neighborhood
The Starland District, located within the borders of the Thomas Square Streetcar Historic District, is one of Savannah’s most fashionable emerging neighborhoods. The district traces its history back over a period of more than a hundred years. Specifically, its origins lie in the founding of the Starland Dairy, a milk processing factory around which the rest of the neighborhood would develop over the course of several decades. The restoration of the Starland District began in 2000, and is still a work in progress. The plan for Starland aimed to restore both its residential and commercial functions, creating a vibrant new art and design district —a haven for local artists and musicians and packed with the city’s best indie boutiques, cafés, shops, and even a brewery —has piqued the interest of preservation buffs because of its Queen Anne, Greek Revival and Craftsman-style homes. This is a rapidly gentrifying area with a lot of renovation projects happening in this trendy and diverse neighborhood consisting of SCAD students, Savannah locals, and vacation homes alike. There are dozens of amazing dining options nearby, including Cotton and Rye for eclectic Southern fare, or Tacos+Tequila for tex-mex, both on Habersham, or Collins Quarter Café in Forsyth Park for brunch and mimosas, all less than a 15 minute walk. It's an exciting time to visit, and we ask our guests to be tolerant and respectful of our diverse neighborhood, and the people who call Savannah home. Local neighborhood shops and restaurants include: • Forsyth Park - Just an eight minute walk. Make sure you check out the Forsyth Farmer's Market, which takes place every Saturday from 9a.m. to 1p.m. • Brighter Day Natural Foods Market - Savannah's historic natural foods market has served as an anchor at the south end of Forsyth Park since 1978, offering a wide selection of organic goods, fresh produce, natural foods, and they even have a walk-up deli window serving up tasty sandwiches on the go! An ideal stop for visitors who would like to pack a healthy picnic to enjoy in Forsyth Park • Back in the Day Bakery - This Southern gem serves up time-honored recipes made by hand with the highest quality ingredients. Don't miss their signature vanilla cupcakes or delicious Biscones - a favorite among visiting celebrities. This crumbly cross between a scone and biscuit is actress Jennifer Garner's absolute favorite. • Grave Face Records & Curiosities - Funky destination for used records & cassettes, plus taxidermy animals & pop culture novelties. • Starland Yard - You're going to love this place! This outdoor food truck haven offers a kid and dog-friendly atmosphere with lively entertainment on most nights, draft beer, and probably the best wood-fire pizza ever! • Foxy Loxy Coffee - A mixture of an art gallery, coffee shop and bistro, Foxy Loxy has a menu options that include all three mealtimes, coffee drinks and even wine alongside constantly changing creative displays. • La Scala Ristorante - An upscale establishment where the food is impeccably prepared and presented. They have a patio featuring live music every first Friday of the Month from Spring to Fall.
